Tableau is one of the most preferred visual analytics engines in today’s market.

To begin with, one can use Tableau Public during the learning phase as it is free of cost.

All other Tableau Versions comes with a 14 day free trial period. However, after 14 days your visualisations will not be accessible to you unless you upgrade.

Also, the reports of each Tableau version can not be shared between different versions.

For example, a Visualisation report created in Tableau Desktop will only be accessible with Tableau Desktop only.

  Tableau Public

Download the free Tableau Public App from the portal and create login credentials.

  • There are limited options to upload the dataset in the Tableau Public.

  • Note after work is done in Tableau Public, it needs to be published in order to save the content.

Your work will be visible to the public on the tableau portal and hence it is not secure. Read the Policy carefully before publishing your content.

  • Follow the below link to extract sample data to practice.
